 Running from September 20, 2019 until December 10, 2019, the Essay Contest is open 

to all international students who want to share their thoughts and ideas on the educational 

and career goals. All young people today require specific knowledge and skills in education

and career planning to support them in making sound choices throughout their lives. 

The purpose of the essay contest is to provide an excellent learning opportunity for young

people to challenge themselves, showcase their creativity and talent, develop analytical 

and critical thinking skills. We believe that our contest can contribute to the process of

educating future broad-minded leaders who would build a better and safer world.

Essay Contest Regulations and Rules

 By entering the Essay Contest, you agree to these terms and conditions and confirm that you are telling us your real name. This Essay Contest “Study in Canada” 2019 is operated and promoted by EduXperience Associates Canada Inc.


This year's essay topic is:  will be published on September 20, 2019 


Contest Rules:

  • Participants must be no younger than 16 and no older than 21 years old  before  December 10, 2019. 
  • Each participant may enter only one essay. 
  • Past winners are not eligible for this contest.
  • Essay should be no less than 1000 words and no more than 1500. References are not included in the word count.
  • All entries must be typed or computer-printed, double-spaced, in English. Entries can be submitted in the following file formats: .doc, .pdf, and .docx. Images can be used in your essay if you feel that they are necessary to your work. Please ensure you have the proper rights to any images included.
  • All entries must be your own original work. All entries will be checked scrupulously for plagiarism. If we determine any of your work to be plagiarized, your entry will be instantly disqualified. 
  • Entries cannot be returned so please remember to retain a copy.
  • Entrants agree that Contest Organizers  have the right to publish, display, reproduce or otherwise use the Essay in whole or in part for advertising or promoting the Contest or for any other reason. 
  • Contest begins on September 20, 2019 and ends on December 10, 2019.

  

Judging:

  • Essays will be kept anonymous and evaluated by a panel of judges appointed by EduXperience Associates Canada. The judges will select 3 finalists.
  • Each Essay will be evaluated based on the following criteria: 

  1. Development of an original, interesting topic that fits the theme;
  2. Clarity of ideas and elegant writing skills;
  3. Use of factual information, analyze the situation and build a case based on argument and facts;
  4. Creativity. 

  • To ensure the anonymity of our participants, the essay title page with all identifying  information will not be sent to the Selection Committee. Writers’ names are unknown until after essays have been ranked and the contest results finalized. 
  • All decisions of the judges are final.


Submitting an Essay:

  • All essays can be submitted to info@eduXpertcan.com at any time before the deadline of December 10, 2019.
  • For each submission to be counted in the contest we require the following information: 
  • The essay title page and name of the participant writing the essay with home mailing address, phone number and email address;   
  • The essay itself.  
  • The participant’s name should not appear any where on the essay pages.
  • Do not put the essay itself into the body of the e-mail; it must be an attached file;
  • Please copy the information from your title page into the e-mail message. 
  • All entries must be received by the closing date of the Contest. Only entries that are duly received by us by the closing date will be eligible for the Contest. We cannot accept responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged and proof of sending an online entry is not proof that we received it.
  • You will receive a confirmation email from Contest Organizers when you successfully submit your Essay. Please contact us if you do not receive a confirmation within a week.


E-mail Submission Example: To: info@eduXpertcan.com From: Name of sender  Subject line: The essay contest ”Study in Canada”   Attached: Your essay itself as a .doc or .pdf attachment only  Body of message: Copy and paste your title page information into the body of the e-mail.


Prizes for the contest are as follows:

  • First-place winner will be granted a $3,000 CAN scholarship to study in Canada.
  • Second-place winner will be granted a $2,000 CAN scholarship to study in Canada.
  • Third-place winner will be granted a $1,000 CAN scholarship to study in Canada.

- All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation. Certificate of Participation will be sent by email. Please provide us with an active email address.

- The winners will be notified (by email, post or phone, using contact details provided with the entry) within 14 days of the closing date.

- We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If any winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed his or her prize within 10 days of the announcement date, The Contest Organizer reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the closing date.

- We may ask you to provide documentary proof or your identity and/or address before award of the prize. The use of a false name or address will disqualify you from receiving any prize.

- You will be responsible for ensuring that you are available to travel and hold valid passports, any necessary visas and other travel documents for the prize in question on the travel dates specified.   


  

  • The Winners can use the scholarship money to apply to the tuition at one of the following educational institutions in Canada:

  • The winners should apply to language course/college/university through EduXperience Associates Canada.  The winners will receive a free service from EduXperience Associates Canada (choosing the course and institution in Canada that matches your personal circumstances).
